  1. May 28,  · referencing Like Flies On Sherbert, LP, Album, PS, P This disjointed (to say the least) effort by Alex Chilton has assumed a huge cult-like status, not necessarily deserved. I always thought this was the sloppiest piece of music ever put on vinyl, so I wasn't surprised to find that Alex was going through some bad times during the recording/5().

  2. Critical ambivalence to Like Flies on Sherbert often stems from people paying attention to the 60s pop nostalgia of Big Star's #1 Record, and not following Chilton through Radio City's visionary half-collapsing pop (think Pavement), or 3rd's absolute avant-garde disarray (like /5(19).
